Angkor Youth Orchestra
ANGKOR YOUTH ORCHESTRA
The Angkor Youth Orchestra Organisation (ANYO) was first established in 2006 by the Japanese musician Mr Minami Shinichi and others. Today, the orchestra is overseen by two Cambodian musicians: Mr Ram Daravong and Mrs Tep Kuntheareth. ANYO has had the opportunity to perform in various ASEAN and Japanese countries, exchanging technical skills with musicians from around the world. ANYO is not only an orchestra, but also a music institute, teaching young children aged four and over, as we aim to help young Cambodian children develop violin skills similar to those in neighbouring countries and across Asia. Since 2024, NagaWorld has been a supporter in promoting classical music in Cambodia. Their invaluable partnership has played a pivotal role in nurturing young Cambodian musicians and providing them with opportunities to perform on stage at the Naga Theatre.

Smiling Gecko Singers

SMILING GECKO SINGERS

The Smiling Gecko Singers is a group of young, passionate performers selected from Smiling Gecko’s rural Cambodian students. Each member has demonstrated exceptional talent in singing, playing musical instruments and performing. Under the guidance of The Gong Studio, the team has trained for almost a year, developing their artistic skills and confidence through hands-on experience and professional mentorship. The talent programme aims to nurture local creative potential, helping these young artists to explore opportunities in the music industry and empowering them to use their talent as a tool for self-expression and future careers. The Smiling Gecko Singers has already begun to make its mark, with collaborations including working with Kesorrr on the «Flag Song» project and performing live at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh. Their journey reflects The Gong’s mission to bridge creativity, education and real-world artistic experience.
